Thunderbolt Disk Device Not Detected

Scenario

You connect Thunderbolt disk device to your computer, but it’s not mounting

Solution

1. Press Start button, type Thunderbolt and click on the search result
2. In the system tray, right-click the Thunderbolt icon
3. Click Settings
4. Uncheck “Only allow Thunderbolt Devices that have been certified for PC“
5. Reconnect the drive and this time it should mount successfully. If it doesn’t, see:
