Scenario: “Skip OS auxiliary files” checked in settings BUT files like pagefile.sys and hiberfil.sys APPEAR in backup with full size.
Though the files are present in MFT, and it looks like they are included full-size, the actual data is not backed up (consists entirely of zeros), so they do not increase size of archive at all. This is required to keep Windows settings correct (e.g. to restore pagefile.sys to original place with original size preventing Windows from creating it on partition C with default settings when it cannot be found).
During restore there will space allocated on the target volume for these files, so their content will consist of data from sectors of allocated disk space until Windows rewrites content of these files.
Hard Disk Manager 14 and later versions will skip content of these files automatically so checkbox will not appear in settings.
