Please make sure that …
Windows handles any Internet access and also the engine of the Windows Explorer with the API (Application Programming Interface) of the Internet Explorer (IE).
That IE 10 is a minimum requirement for the HDM 16 product family does not mean you have to use that browser. For activation and other internet access operations the programs use the systemwide defined standard browser. What the programs need is the API of IE 10 or higher. This API is installed and updated along with the regular Windows updates. Basically this requirement does only mean that Windows (7 or higher) has to be up-to-date. This should be the case anyway to run Windows as safe as possible. The IE 10 API should have been installed by a regular Windows update somewhen in 2013. Newer Windows versions contain a higher IE API.
