Scenario: you install GPT Loader on Windows XP and notice memory leaks and eventual overflow when using a GPT drive
This is a rare issue that occurs on some hardware. It has been fixed in newer versions of the gpt_loader.sys
driver, but unfortunately the fix hasn’t been retroactively incorporated into the GPT Loader product. There are two workarounds to it.
Workaround #1. Split the GPT drive into partitions less than 2 TiB (2.2 TB) in size. This helps if the issue occurs when copying relatively big files to the area after the first 2 TiB on the disk.
Workaround #2. Use a newer version of the GPT Loader driver. You’ll need to request it on the support channel. Open a support request in your personal account, describe the issue, and we’ll send you the file and instructions for installation.
