When you remove a file or partition, only information about its location is deleted. However, the actual data is still left on the
disk, making it possible to restore.
Wipe wizard allows you to permanently delete the data without possibility to restore it. During Wipe, the specified area is
overwritten with useless data (by 4 MB blocks), overwriting existing information.
In Hard Disk Manager, you can wipe partitions, free space inside the partition, unallocated space, or the entire hard disk.
Clear free space inside the partition
Use this option to wipe sectors of Free space area of the partition, to prevent possibility to restore previously deleted files.
To clear free space inside the partition, right-click on the partition (smaller rectangle) and choose Clear free space.
Wipe partition
Use this option to wipe all sectors of the partition. The partition will become Unformatted.
To wipe a partition, right-click on the partition (smaller rectangle) and choose Wipe partition.
Wipe unallocated space
Use this option to wipe all sectors of unallocated space area.
To wipe free space, right-click on the unallocated area (smaller rectangle with Free label) and choose Wipe partition.
Wipe disk

To wipe hard disk, right-click on the disk (larger rectangle with smaller rectangles inside) and choose Wipe Disk.
All aforementioned operations are configured using same Wipe Wizard.
By default, the specified area is set to be filled with zeros, but you can specify the desired data value.
You can set the wipe procedure to be performed several times. Although it’s usually not required, it may ensure the impossibility
of data restore.
You can also set the wizard to check if the data had been wiped successfully. After the wipe operation, read test is performed for
the specified amount of sectors (inside each 4 MB block). If the specified amount is less than 100 percent, read test is performed for proportional part in the beginning of each 4 MB block.
After you have configured the wizard, click on Wipe.
Select Yes to confirm your decision.
You can now preview your changes.
To apply the operation, select Apply Operations – Apply.
