| Q: How to perform surface test using software of Paragon?
A: Please do the following:
- Run Paragon software product.
- Browse in menu to General/Settings. On the first page find 'Surface test' and change 'None' to 'Normal'.
- Click 'Ok'.
- Rightclick on partition/free space block and choose option 'Retest surface'.
- Click 'Apply'. If it is your system partition, you'll be forced to perform it in Bluescreen mode (under Win NT/2000/XP).
CHKDSK utility often misses unreliable disk sectors. That is why we don't recommend you to rely on its results. The same is about Windows tool from 'Properties' of disk volume.
Also you can check the surface of your HDD with its vendor's original utility.

There is no known Toshiba utility provided to check HDD surface and we recommend you using Drive Fitness Test (IBM/Hitachi) tool for this purpose. |
